No surgery for Curry

October
9

While his teammates were enjoying a day off, Eddy Curry was being poked and prodded by Knicks orthopedist Dr. Answorth Allen, who seconded the diagnosis of a laberal tear with no rotator cuff damage. He ruled out surgery and prescriped more treatment and rehabilitation.

Curry will be re-evaluated in another week, so there is no definitive timetable.

Perhaps the best news of all is the fact that nobody told Curry to avoid stationary bikes or treadmills. When the Knicks centerpiece is breathing heavy, things do not come easy. And he started out in great shape. It would be a crying shame to go backward.

  • There’s a new poll up. Vote. In the last poll, a slim majority of the faithful stated a belief Renaldo Balkman will be the most improved player on the roster despite starting out with a foot injury. He beat Mardy Collins by one vote.
  • Mark your calendar. The open practice several people inquired about is Oct. 20 at Hofstra University. Doors open at 11 a.m. Nate Robinson will be showing off a ridiculous vertical by 12:01 p.m.

  1. Lefty

Is the point of the vote who do I think “should” get it or who do I think will get it. For “should” I’d probably vote Dnic, for who “will” get it I’d vote F Jones.

  2. whoa

Nichols should get it (or get some spot even if it means getting rid of the flotsam and jetsam like JJ (1 or 2) or Malik Rose, but Isiah is all about vindicating himself, so Jones will get it.
