Is anybody out there?

We appear to have gotten lost in cyberspace, so my apologies for the disappearance. I don’t have a clue what happened. Part of me wonders if Alan Hahn cracked the code and took Knicks Knacks down.
There doesn’t seem to be an easy fix, so hang in there with me.
But enough of the silliness. We’ve got some catching up to do, starting with a couple of notes from the easy win over Maccabi Tel Aviv.
• Wait until you see the new scoreboards in the Garden end zones. They light up the place with all kinds of information and graphics.
• Stephon Marbury looks a half step quicker than a year ago, but he still can’t seem to finish more than 50 percent of those layups in traffic.
• I can’t believe the marketing department advertised in the arena for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular on a night when a wide majority of the crowd was Jewish.
• Jamal Crawford appears to be looking to use the added bulk and penetrate more. That is what made him so good two seasons ago.
• My favorite postgame quote came from Vonteego Cummings. “We didn’t follow our plan,” the Maccabi guard said. “We need to when we get back. We need to go over things because there are teams better than the Knicks in Europe right now.”
As for the Allan Houston comeback, making the roster is probably a long shot. I just don’t see where he fits, and there was a negative tone yesterday after practice talking with Knicks coach Isiah Thomas.
Everybody is in wait-and-see mode.
We do have a better sense of where the roster stands. Everybody assumed Demetris Nichols and Fred Jones already had one foot out the door.
“It’s not Nichols and Fred Jones,” Thomas said. “We’re trying to put together a 15-man roster and, by the way, I like Fred a lot. I drafted him in Indiana, so don’t plan on him going anywhere anytime soon.”
So here’s what it looks like right now:
Locks to make the final roster:
Eddy Curry
Zach Randolph
Stephon Marbury
Jamal Crawford
Quentin Richardson
David Lee
Nate Robinson
Renaldo Balkman
Mardy Collins
Wilson Chandler
Jared Jeffries
Randolph Morris
Still looking for a role:
Malik Rose
Fred Jones
Demetris Nichols
On the endangered list:
Allan Houston
Jerome James
The soon to be departed:
Jared Jordan
Roderick Wilmont
Walker D. Russell Jr.
I’m away from the gym for the next two days, but I will be checking in and posting if there’s any news. Hopefully, we’ll get back to normal in the very near future.
UPDATE (2:36 p.m.): Thomas cut Wilmont after practice today, so the roster is down to 19 players. … Allan Houston reported some lingering soreness, but went through the entire workout.
