Marbury won’t be shy
A couple of us had a nice conversation with Stephon Marbury this afternoon when practice was over. Most of us were running around getting one last quote for the previews that are being pulled together for upcoming print editions, but there was one headline from the Knicks playmaker.
“I’m looking way more for my shot this year as opposed to last year,” he said. “Way more. Because when I’m aggressive it just opens things up for the other players as opposed to last year when I was sitting back.”
Now don’t go jumping to conclusions.
Eddy Curry and Zach Randolph will still be Option 1 and 1A, but Marbury has to keep himself busy. When he was aggressive last season, there were more easy shots for the other players on the floor.
He didn’t mention the alter ego once in this conversation.
Since he believes there’s potential for an upturn, Marbury altered his offseason approach.
“I’m just prepared,” Marbury said. “I’m more prepared this year. I think with the team that we have, there’s a lot at stake as far as on the positive end, so I think it’s important for everyone to definitely put forth what they’re going to put forth as far as trying to make this a successful year.”
How good might the Knicks be?
“Me being someone who’s played on a several teams with different coaches and a bunch of different guys, this here is definitely one of the best teams I’ve ever played on because of the diversity that we have,” Marbury said. “We have so many guys who can do so many different things. Every night it will be somebody different, and if somebody has it rolling for five or six games, that’s who we’re going to roll with.”

Well,
Let’s hope he can put reallyu good numbers in assists. Our pass ability is horrible. We never play like friends. Everybody creates his on shots. Craw, ECity, marbury. We don’t share. Look at the World Champs. They share the ball as anyone. That’s, and their defense that makes them my choice for another title this year. Who’s gonna beat them? No one. That’s what out team is not. Sharing team and defense team. What can we say more??
Even with that, I believe we can make the playoffs. Bill Simmons says in his page that Atlanta will make the playoffs with the 5 seed? I tought it was a joke, but it wasn’t. If the Hawks make it, and we dont, the only choice is: Sell the Knicks Charles Dolan!
Anyway mike, Simmons also said that IT will be fired between Thanksgiven and Christmas Eve. What do you think? If Knicks stink in the first 2 months, they will fire him??

What ever happened to 12 assists and 2 dimes? Marbs hasnt seemed to pass much at all this last month. Even Crawford seems to get more assists

Marbury is the Key to the team. His decision making will determine the Knicks fate, and also his legacy as a winning ballplayer. This is the year he can make a statement that
he can run a team, be a leader. He’s been here 5 years, he has to keep both big guys happy and control the movement of the ball. He showed he was a team player last year, and I believe there is a real hunger for this team this year, from the Coach to the last man on the bench. No more excuses.

What a clown… I’m a Marbury supporter but I’m getting tired of him talking.
We went from “I don’t care about scoring” and wanting to get 10+ dimes and assists to him shooting more this season….. last I heard Marbury averaged a little over 5 assists per game last season.
Not gonna cut it. Shutup and show me already.

I think Marbury should just stick to what he’s good at. Thats scoring. When Marbury and Collins were starting I think our team did really good. We should take a page of the t-wolves book when Starbury and Garnett were playing together. Garnett wasn’t force fed the ball every possession. The more attention Starbury can get, the more people will be open. This will lead to more assists.
