A good early test

November
6

While the fight night coverage might overshadow the sidebars, the Knicks are going to have a sense for where they stand early on when the final buzzer goes off tonight.

Denver is a quality opponent.

There are several areas of interest. How is Stephon Marbury going to stay in front of Allen Iverson? How will Eddy Curry and Zach Randolph maneuver around Marcus Camby and Nene? How will Quentin Richardson and Renaldo Balkman keep track of Carmelo Anthony?

I’m hoping for a close game just to see how the Knicks handle the final minutes against playoff competition.

Nate Robinson says he will play, but there is a possibility that he will be forced to sit with a strained hamstring. That could leave Anthony and Nene as the only principles from last season’s brawl getting significant minutes tonight.

Jared Jeffries and Jerome James are both injured and inactive. Mardy Collins is in uniform, but has yet to play a single minute. J.R. Smith is coming off a three-game team suspension, but remains in George Karl’s doghouse.

    Mike,

This game will be brodcast here in BRAZIL.
I’m very happy. I will see my beloved knicks early in the season.
A few years ago we had here NBA LEAGUE PASS. DirecTV is not allowing us to sign.
We have ESPN and another minor local TV. ESPN always show the games of US ESPN (Wed. and Fri), and as the Knicks were stinking, they are not broadcasting too many. The other local TV is broadcasting games Tue. and Thu, the games of NBA TV. That’s why I’ll watch the Knicks game today.

I’m very happy. Let’s hope we can win this one. It’ll be a tought test. I agree with you. Martin, Camby and Nene will be very good oponents to Curry, Z-Bo and D-LEE.

Hey. Imagine if Scott Layden had not trade Camby+Nene for McDyess. Nene+Camby+Lee. What a defensive team.

This is the showdown me and Davonn (where has he been?) have been referencing. Arguably the best offensive frontcourt against, I would assume indisputably, the best defensive frontcourt.

    Let’s get ready to rumble!

    Hi Mike,

Yes, this game will be a test for the NYK. Last year, the best we could expect in this situation was an embarrasing blowout. I’m not expecting a win here, Denver has WAAAY to much firepower. I’d at least like to see the Knicks be competitive in this game. That would be a good sign.

Q Rich the great defensive stopper is going to get lit up again and if we’re lucky he’ll score 10 points. Start letting Chandler learn, so what if he gets score on, it’s not like Q is doing anything.
