A little overanxious

In every NBA huddle, there’s a gaggle of assistants toting clipboards.

And not a shot chart among them.

I know, it’s a complete waste of time against every team in the league except the Golden State Warriors, who always seem to provide open looks in the shadow of the rim.

Go find the shot chart.

They keep them on the internet, for some reason. In the first half, the lane was peppered with makes. It was a roadmap for success. In the second half, the perimeter was peppered with misses.

Oops.

Nobody ever accused the Knicks of playing with intelligence.

• Does anybody else have a problem with Andris Biedrins getting an NBA-high 25 rebounds while Eddy Curry and Zach Randolph sat on the bench?

• Let’s hope they don’t label it a moral victory, but the level of effort from everyone involved at least made the game entertaining. I can’t think of too many games that were fun to sit back and watch this season.

• Did you see David Lee commit a foul in the first quarter and give up the ball without a word of complaint? He’s learning. Lee will earn more 50-50 calls by staying quiet.

Mike Eddy played like 3 minutes in the 4th

In the third he was given the ball early and often but the knicks also squandered the league while going inside due to Biedrins offensive rebounding and several Curry turnovers as he got tired towards the end of the 3rd.

I think Zach having an off night affected a lot of what the knicks could do in the 4th as they would normally try and go to him.

that was a tough one last night. That streak by Psycho (Stephen Jackson) was a killer. Not to be a sore-loser, but….

...the thing that bothers me most about the NBA’s clear foul-calling bias towards super-stars is their refusal to admit it exists.

Last night, Mardy got called for multiple offensive fouls, which mostly were deserved. But Baron Davis drove hard a number of times, one of which was reminiscent of Jim Brown going through the D-Line, with the foul called on the Knicks.

You’ll know that the league thinks the Knicks are getting better when they start to get some of those calls.

On the, “do we need Marbury back?” thread:
I’ve been feeling really bad for him lately. There’s no question that he has made mistakes in his career, but, the situation with his father dying, at a game against his old team (which is now championship caliber), while his hometown fans booed him is the stuff of Shakespearean trajedy. If anyone deserves a mulligan it’s Marbury, and, if you’re out there, the guy I sparred with some months ago deserves some credit. I see your point now, dude.

    On the fire sale:
If they lose all five games on this trip, I say let’s tank and get a pick. If they win two of the next four I’m still on board.
