Thomas vs. Thomas

February
29

There’s a reason why a wide majority of NBA teams have one guy to buy the groceries and one guy to cook the meal.

Did you watch the Knicks fall apart? Isiah Thomas only used an eight-man rotation in what’s essentially a meaningless game. He is playing to win every single game. Are you OK with that game plan?

Renaldo Balkman sat. Wilson Chandler sat. Randolph Morris sat.

We keep hearing about the promise these players hold, but they never seem to get off the bench. So how do they grow? It can’t be easy to evaluate their value based on practice time.

Does anybody see this being a conflict of interest?

Thomas is talking like he’ll survive this disaster, but he’s not coaching like he’ll stick around past April.

How is this a conflict of interest? The owner’s choosing, end of story.

Do you really have to ask us if we are OK with that? We hate everything about it, but what can we do? In every single Knicks blog, forum, discussion, whatever, Knicks fans want to see the young guys play and see them develop. The Knicks know what we want, but when has Dolan ever given the fans what they want?

He’s coaching like every game is a playoff game. Since he has no future he’s not going to develope anyone. That’s why D-Nice isn’t here anymore (Where is he anyway?).

He’s doing his job. His job is to try (unsuccessfully) to win ball games. Thomas is in everyones crosshairs right now. As soon as he starts playing the young guys, it’s a sign he’s throwing in the towel. His job, first and foremost, is to make sure he keeps his job. He deserves to be fired, but do you really expect him to show that he has given up on the group he put together? We wont see the young guys until he is fired, hopefully tomorrow. I can dream right? I think the best scenario for the rest of the season would be for Lee’s weirdo leg problem to come back and put him out for the season…Jamals shoulder pad problem to require minor, but season ending surgery. This way the season goes ALL THE WAY down the tubes and we luck into the top pick in the draft. Knowing the knicks luck, the young guys step in and play better than we all think and put the knicks in the eighth spot for a first round sweep and no chance at the top pick.

on an unrelated note…Mike, you MUST have a better picture than what’s on this page. I enjoy reading your stuff, but that pic makes you look like a borderline heavy drinker with a penchant for impolite sarcasm. Change it. By tomorrow. Thank you in advance.

Zach with his best game as a Knick. The five assists were big. I’m just gonna treat this one like a win because we didn’t lose by 40. The break looked good. Lee and Zach with strong outlet passes. Nate looked in control. jamal still prone to chuck and not near 50%. Ultimately they just jumped over us. I wish we were them. We are predicated on power. Eddy should be in there presenting a strength advantage. That’s our edge over them but no…

As to not playing the kids, he’s got to do try to win.

Mike, who’d you see in the High School tourney that has a bright future. College ball is getting serious now too. Are we going to get into some souting soon?

    Loki,
D-nice just got sent to the D-League. He’s Chicago property now.

    Alex,
The coach should be winning games, yes, but the GM needs to know what he’s got heading into next season.I don’t like the picture, either, but we’re all stuck with it.

    Dan,
Keep an eye on Mookie Jones from Peekskill. Heading to Syracuse next year. He’s got NBA hands and feet. We’ll do some scouting in April and May and June. We’ve got time.
