Tuned in? Tuned out?

March
12

Will you be watching tonight’s game in Miami? I’m obligated. What’s your excuse?

Not long ago, transplanted New Yorkers snapped up tickets and stopped by American Airlines Arena to cheer on the Knicks. The noise was a major source of aggravation for local Heat fans. I wonder if either team will draw tonight because it hardly seems worth investing time and energy.

Here’s the only race worth keeping an eye on right now:

  1. Heat 11-51

  2. Timberwolves 14-49

  3. Grizzlies 15-48

  4. Sonics 16-48

  5. Knicks 18-46

  6. Clippers 21-41

  7. Bucks 23-41

  8. Bobcats 24-39

And here are the current odds of winning the draft lottery:

  1. Heat 25%

  2. Timberwolves 19.9%

  3. Grizzlies 15.6%

  4. Sonics 11.9%

  5. Knicks 8.8%

  6. Clippers 6.3%

  7. Bucks 4.3%

  8. Bobcats 2.8%

At the risk of starting a nasty debate over what constitutes a diehard fan, who are you going to root for tonight when the ball goes up?

Once upon a time this game was an event, a must see for both teams’ fans. What a shame.

  2. Elite

ill be watching and rooting for the knicks untill the last 4 minutes of the 4th when ill be rooting for miami.

I want us to loose every game the rest of the season. We need the best pick possible

  3. Elite

even though Miami is terrible… Who here would not trade rosters with them in a heart beat?

    A core of Marion/Wade or a core of Randolph/Crawford

    ???? No Brainer

  4. Elliot

You gotta root for the heat. Derrick Rose is our only hope

  5. KFFL

Derek Rose isn’t even that great…. I believe that he only averages like 14 pts and 4.5 asts per game. I hope we get Mayo or Beasley.

  6. Not Hawthorne Wingo

I’m rooting for Dolan to sell!

  7. George

If Isiah doesn’t get fired, it doesn’t matter what pick we get. But if he is getting fired, I am definitely rooting for the Heat.

Lately I’ve been cheering for the Knicks until the very end and then kind of closing my eyes.

Losing to the Heat would be like beating the number #1 team in a playoff race.

To be the worst, you gotta lose to the worst I guess.

Elite (2nd poster) said it best… I’ll route for the Knicks till the last 4 minutes of the game. Then I want Miami for the sake of ping pong balls. I still watch every game and I want to see the Knicks compete but a few more wins are so meaningless right now. More losses can actually do us some good for a change.

With that being said, I don’t think we can catch up to Miami anyway. It’s for the sake of catching up to Seattle, Memphis and possibly Minnesota who has been playing better of late.

We hove some really important games left to lose…
    1 vs Miami
    2 vs Memphis
    1 vs Minnesota

0-5 in these games gives us a great chance at a top 2 pick.
