Eddy Curry was scheduled to undergo surgery today, and Donnie Walsh is likely to be dissected with the Knicks visiting Indiana.
We still don’t know what the Knicks have in store for Isiah Thomas, but the story Frank Isola had today in the Daily News is certainly interesting. I do know the Pacers CEO is on every list of potential front office replacements I’ve heard. And he is a nuts-and-bolts administrator who knows the landscape in New York.
The organization might benefit from the old school approach.
And should James Dolan bring in somebody like Walsh or Jerry Colangelo, it would be a great opportunity to layer the front office. Let the voice of experience be team president and point man on every personnel decision. Hire somebody like Allan Houston or Greg Anthony to be the general manager and learn how to build a team.
It certainly wouldn’t hurt to have different opinions whenever a decision has to be made.
And before I forget, Happy St. Patrick’s Day. The Knicks will be wearing the green tonight, so don’t adjust your sets.
