Knicks ready to welcome Donnie Walsh

April
1

Didn’t mean to wake anybody up, but the Knicks have scheduled a press conference tomorrow at 1 p.m.

Guess who?

The negotiations have apparently reached a conclusion, and Donnie Walsh is coming back home to assume control of basketball operations. A number of blanks still have to be filled in. Nobody is saying where this leaves Isiah Thomas, who was on the sidelines for last night’s overtime loss.

I wonder if Herb Williams got a phone call before the plane took off for Memphis.

Knicks owner James Dolan will likely be issuing some kind of a formal welcome, so let’s hope he also unveils the latest rebuilding plans because a lot of the fans are getting tired of waiting for answers.

I have to go set my alarm clock. Stay in touch.

Isiah is staying. He’s the new Elgin Baylor. He will be here for 25 years and nothing he will do will get him fired. Isiah will return to power when Walsh retires.

I really hope msg broadcasts this press conference

    Mike,

Can you add an option to your poll that offers the ability to not like the Walsh hiring if Isiah stays?

I really hope Dolan steps out in public without his body guard one day so I can kick him in the nuts.

Who f’ing cares anymore? Isiah Thomas is staying. He clearly yields power in the organization and has the undying love of Dolan behind him. The franchise is dead to me. It is over. There is no positive in any of this. I am done. I am walking away. I cannot believe I am doing this but this is the end of the road. I am handing in my fan pass and leaving. Screw you, Dolan!

George… you aren’t going anywhere. You wouldn’t be here posting today if you were ‘walking away’. If you’ve stayed around the entire time Isiah ran the team into the ground, you’re not leaving now that there is some competence in the room. I hope your rant made you feel better though. You’ll be back posting right after the press conference. Happy days are here again for all.

Anyways. I think Isiah will be around, but NOT on the bench. Maybe, MAYBE, scouting or some other capacity. Possibly the director of the new sexual harassment sensitivity program. I think Isiah is an alright ‘guy’. He’s just a terrible GM.

You gotta love the jermaine o neal trade. I’m not too sure about picking freddy jones 14 though. I heard donnie wanted to take tayshaun prince but isiah forced him to take freddy, anyone know about this? You have to applaud him for taking reggie miller instead of some hometown player that I heard everyone was urging him to take. I also have heard nothing but glowing praise when donnie’s name comes up. I just hope he’s not so old that all the competitive fire that made him such a workaholic is gone and he just wants a final paycheck and to move back to NY to settle down and retire.

I have no respect for Donnie Walsh if he comes here to be another James Dolan butt buddy and keeps Isiah Thomas.
