Almost done

April
13

After getting a couple of days to recharge, I’m back for the last week of what has to be the worst season I’ve ever witnessed up close.

It’s not a complaint.

Covering the Larry Brown disaster was blast, too. Seriously. Not once all season has anybody from the Knicks accused somebody in the media of making something up to sell papers.

You simply cannot make this stuff up.

And that makes going to work fun. There were days where I simply rolled into practice or showed up for the game and held out my digital recorder to preserve the moment. Most of the stories wrote themselves.

There are eight quarters to go.

Isiah Thomas might know his fate by Thursday or Friday, and then we can begin debating the merits of Mark Jackson, Scott Skiles and Herb Williams.

Donnie Walsh is also looking for a general manager, who really isn’t going to impact the club for another three or four years. The newly arrived president will be making all basketball decisions until he decides to retire, so right now the Knicks are just looking for a devil’s advocate/idea man.

Billy King or Rick Sund would do well in that role.

And tomorrow night, the Garden faithful will get one more chance to make themselves heard. I’m wondering if enough regulars will show up to drive the point home.

Where have all the Knicks games gone?

Can anybody help me finding coverage of the Knicks games lately? Most of the past 5-10 games have not been on MSG due to conflicting schedules with the rangers. So I assumed they would be on My9, but often that is the Nets game instead, and the new MSG+ is running specials and whatnot.

Have Knicks games just not been aired on TimeWarner in NYC lately, or is there yet another channel I am missing? I know tonight’s game is back on MSG, but the last game of the season will not be. The Rangers have a playoff game then, and when I searched the TimeWarner guide, it seems the only channel airing Knicks-Pacers is one of the NBA League Pass channels.

Is it possible the last game of the season will not be televised?

Last year I remember there was a website, something like msgoverflow or something like that, that had a list of game broadcasts, but I can’t remember it.

    Any ideas?

Thanks Mike! Always on top of things.

I guess the problem was that when the game is moved, it is not listed in the guide, so it will not come up when I search for the game. And, I didn’t know what channel MSG2 was. And, I didn’t try too hard given the sad state of affairs.

I’m not sure what cable system it is, but another poster told me in the Bronx the games have been on channel 14, the TV Guide station. wow.
