I like Avery Johnson more than Thibodeau. Even though he is young, he did lead Dallas to a the best record last year. But, he will probably get an extension from the Mavs. Then again, even if the Knicks get a big name coach, there is no way that he will be able to turn the knicks around. Thay need to revamp the whole roster.

I like Thibodeau... I think that would be the best route to take. I know everyone talks about paying less for a coach that is rebuilding but why not start off strong and build of a particular mentality instead of letting a coach learn from his mistakes while the team struggles for another couple of years. Thibodeau has been groomed for coaching. Van Gundy, Eddie Jordan, and 1b on the Celtics bench. And if you listen to the Celtics players... or their leader KG, all they talk about is the defense taking them to the promise land. Now KG is a great player and understands what wins but we need a coach to inspire the players to play defense.

I vote Thibodeau also. If this team can play some defense, they can compete for a low-level playoff seed and without too much tweaking, other than the obvious changes that are needed. That would be good enough for the time being until the NYK can get the big nuts free agents down the road. Thibodeau is the man for the job, with Jacks in as an assistant, if he would take that job. They need a coach who will have them playing defense like wildcats or boot their asses out of here.

My guy is Thibodeau, although I like the idea of a Mitchell or Johnson. Both Sam and very are tough on their guys and that's what we need.

Donnie is not looking to get a big name so he has to pay big bucks - just a coach who can keep things together and competitive while the knicks cut salary and try to dabble in the FA class of 2010.

That is why Mark Jackson is the best man for the job - no experience so his pay will be low, but with the NY swagger and basketball IQ to lead men.

Walsh can interview Jackson whenever he chooses.

Thibodeau should be interviewed after they sweep the Hawks and he has some time.

It's a shame JVG has no interest but I respect that he doesn't want to get in the way of his buddy Mark.

I like Rick Carlisle, but he's a playoff team kind of coach and we need a rebuilding kind of coach.

Out of all those playoff coaches, I have the most interest in Eddie Jordan. Flip and Mitchell are overrated, and Avery is not a rebuilding kind of coach.

Considering JVG isn't serious about it, I want Mark or Tom.
