The extraordinary workers are the ones who choose to be around the game no matter what, even if its not in a "starring role". I know, I just described Herb Williams and maybe he would outwork the other coaches but geez, how could you not be affected by that atmosphere after all those years. I hope Herb either moves up or gets another gig in another organization, I suspect it would be healthier for him. Having said that, Johnson is, as you say, a winner and as I stated above, I'm okay with Johnson as well. I really want a knick team that had the attitude of Xman, Starks, Oak... back. Despite Jackson's link to that team, I never thought he was the emotional heart of those teams. Of course, that assumes I can't have the Knicks of Bradley, Frazier, Monroe, Lucas et. al. Both harder working and smarter than the other teams. Imagine that. Avery took a 50 win dallas team and made them into a 67 win dallas team. They already had a good offense. once he instilled defense, it was whole other story. Dallas' problems don't stem from coaching. it's all about their 'leader' Dirk. He's just too soft and not a leader(as Wade put it). Everyone was beating up on Isiah for not trying to go after some european player, but there hasn't been a single team that's been led by a Euro import that's won it all. Dallas needs to trade Dirk while he's still got some value for a player or two that has the heart to win it all. Dan, i disagree…

How are you going to hire someone so inexperienced like Jackson when so many experienced and qualified coaches are available? I still do not see what Walsh sees in Jackson. The Knicks need a real basketball coach. Not a former player who you are hoping works out. I've rarely seen such one sided officiating. If that series was called fairly, Dallas wins that title. However, Dallas and Johnson were exposed to some degree by Nelson and Golden State.
