Duhon stops by for a visit

July
1

They used to roll out a red carpet and pull up the yacht, but rules put into place in recent years limited Chris Duhon to a tour of the MSG Training Center and  lunch.

He visited with team officials today, according to a Knicks source.

There’s a chance his agent will call back to fill in the blanks at some point this evening, but it’s usually a good sign when a free agent is willing to do the legwork. It’s also possible Duhon came looking for leverage. Miami appears to be interested, as well, so a stopover in New York could be worth an extra year on a potential deal.

If nothing else, this aggressive pursuit of a playmaker confirms Stephon Marbury could soon be negotiating a buyout.

Chris Duhon seems like a smart guy. I hope he does well in Miami.

Between NHL free agency starting today and Chris Duhon stopping by for cake and coffee, James D. is gonna hafta schedule some time off soon to get his wits back. Whew! Tough day.

I heard Sheridan say Duhan is signing for 2 years 11.5 mil is this true?

Check out this trade I ran through the RealGM Trade checker.

    New York …

Trades to LA Zach Randolph and Ronaldo Balkman

gets from LA Odom, and Mihm

    NY Trades to Sacramento…

David Lee, Malik Rose, and Jared Jefferies

    gets Mike Miller from Sacramento

    Sacramento fowards to LA

    Ron Artest

    LA Fowards to Sacramento

    Trevor Ariza.

I believe this trade makes sense for all involved but please smack me down if you disagree.

Perhaps We can try to keep Balkman as a safetynet in case Wilson Chandler isn’t 100 percent.

    Feedback suggestion?

Hey Mike is what Elite said true 2 years for 11.5 or 2 years for 6. I keep on hearing conflicting reports.

    Orange and Blue,
I think it would be Brad Miller. Is the idea here just that the salaries match or has this been leaked?

As to Duhon, if we do it, Marbury better be gone, we better get that rotation set, and we better show improvement. I’m sick of redundencies on this roster. Chris better be coming to play a lot, play well, and make us a functional basketball team. If he’s just another guy you try who ends up alternately taking time from our prospects and sitting on the bench, who ends up clogging up our payroll, and who ends up confused as to his role I’m going to lose my mind.

Steph wants to takes Danillo’s spot in Italy Milan. LOL

    Are you guys insane?
Duhon is nothing more than a quality backup PG. Marbury is not getting bought out. D’Antoni will play him next season but he will be on a tight leash. He plays like Starbury and he stays. He plays poorly then the knicks have insurance at the point in duhon if they decide to cut Marbury. Donnie saw that last season when Marbury went down – neither JC nor Nate was capable of running the team.

The NYPOST is reporting the deal as 2yrs $7mil.

    Another Randolph Trade That Works…

I came up with two trades to get Zach outta town to get under the cap in 2010. Check it out and let me know your thoughts.
