Plan B

Has anybody been watching Team USA waltzing along? Do you think Chris Bosh is enjoying a coming out? Could he be the player who makes Eddy Curry a legitimate All-Star?
Quit laughing.
I’m almost serious here. We know Curry is never going to be a cornerstone. He’s more comfortable playing second fiddle, and there were some moments two seasons ago when the middleman appeared to be on the brink of hitting the big time. The guy causes serious matchup problems for a number of teams.
Bosh seems to like the attention he’s gotten in the last couple of seasons, and is playing well on the world’s stage. He is also in the free agent class of 2010, and could be a heck of a consolation prize if Lebron James decides the Knicks aren’t worth saving. Bosh has the kind of game that would fit in well alongside what’s already here.
He even plays a little defense.
Think ahead a little. Do you like Bosh and Curry on the front line with the likes of Danilo Gallinari and Jamal Crawford on the perimeter. A solid point guard is the final piece. Nate Robinson and David Lee could be the top reserves. It sounds like a start?
And in the mean time …
How about trading Zach Randolph straight up to Cleveland for Ben Wallace? He comes off the books in two years, which fits the plan. And we all know how Curry plays better when he’s angry. Wallace is known to induce bad moods. Let them go head-to-head in practice and maybe some of the attitude will rub off.
Thoughts?

A funny comment in a post-game interview from Beijing, Bosh said something along the lines of, “The fans in Toronto are going to get spoiled with the way I’ve been playing defense. I can’t keep this up forever.” But once he has that gold medal draped around his neck, I bet he’ll realize that winning makes that kind of play totally worth it.
Why wouldn’t the big names in the 2010 class land in the same place? KG pulled RayRay to Boston and they won immediately. Could Lebron and/or Bosh and/or Dwayne Wade land on the same team? Is that even possible?
Wallace would have to come off the Bench for David Lee and to spot Curry
Bosh would be great but alot can happen in 2 years.
What if the Knicks really got below the cap and picked up 2 star free agents? Any possibility there?
Gallo needs to work on his skills. I think her is going to be a finesse player with a Bruisers body.
I think we can get more for Zach…and what if Zach comes to play?
I wanna watch the team MINUS StinkBury play before I make any big moves.
Bosh doesn’t strike me as the type of player that would be influenced by the bright lights of New York. Unlike Dwyane Wade and LeBron James. But you’re right, he would be a hell of a consolation prize. I think he’ll be a lock on the first or second All-NBA defensive team next season.
Since the end of last season I’ve been saying a Z-Bo to the Cavs deal makes sense. My first proposal was a Z-Bo, Jamal and Jefferies for Wallace, Wally and a first round pick…which would give cleveland 3 very good pieces that they can stick into their rotation right away with Lebron. For the Knicks, losing Jamal would be a bit tough (even though he frustrates the hell out of me) but it would help our salary cap tremendously!!!!
A more realistic trade at this point is probably what you proposed, which is a Z-Bo for Wallace or Z-Bo for Wally deal. I can live with either one.
Randolph for Wallace is the first good suggestion I’ve heard. Bring Ben back to a DEFENSIVE CITY and put him in a system where he will get easy offensive points. Raise his confidence. You also make Curry better. He was good in Chicago when he had Tyson Chandler there to push him offensively and defensively. The system will take care of his weight. He has no choice.
Eddy Curry’s season two years ago is so misleading. Yeah, he scored 20 ppg. What about the poor D, the lack of rebounding and the turnovers he caused?
Curry is a 25 minute scoring punch bench player. He should not start.
Ben is done. He is definitely not worth $15mil a season.
I’d even do Zach for Kmart but Zach for Wally is probably the most realistic deal I’d jump on.
