Marbury being Marbury

August
27

Did you read what Stephon Marbury is up to?

Please, take minute and check out Page 6 in the New York Post. A private jet? He’s laying down $45 million for a private jet? Michael Jordan is the only former NBA star I can think of who can justify the expense. That’s a seriously pricey toy.

How about the headline … Ya gettin’ in the jet?

I can’t stop laughing. I also can’t help wondering how things might’ve turned out had Marbury purchased a plane before last season. What if he and Thomas flew separately to Phoenix?

Joking. Joking.

Anyway, since we’ve got some time, let’s start inventing our own potential headlines. Here’s what I’ve got off the top of my head:

MSG to Steph: Fly away!

Lifestyles of the rich and hopeless

Fire away.

    HEADLINE:

    FLYING AND DYING!!!

Knicks point guard logjam resolved in October by fortuitous lightning strike. The NY knicks had a little serendipity come their way when Marbury’s plane was struck by lightning at 25,000 feet. Said Donnie Walsh, “Well, that means more minutes for Chris Duhon”. Calm, smooth, slick. Walsh is 260 lbs of fiasco!!! When asked, “the swirling dervish” Latrell Sprewell said he had no comment on the matter.

I’m expecting Marbury to go the route of most Hasbeen athletes. Try to live large and snub his nose at everything

and be Broke when he’s 50.

Then he’ll be a Broke Joke

Buy that plane Marbury! In fact it sounds a little small for a partying stud like you, get the bigger one.

  3. Vinni V

It’s a shame you got nothin else to write about. I don’t care how any of the athletes spend their money. I wanna here basketball related stories. Stop Hatin!!!

I agree. Who are we to decide what a person spends his money on. Everyone posting on here does not even have that kind of money so we should not hate.

If Marbury wants to buy a plane – let him, it’s his money. All I care about is that he comes to the garden, in tip top shape and ready to drop 20/8 like the good old days.

.... They guy has made over a 130 million dollars in his career and is due another 20 next year. spending 40 million out of his 150 on a jet isnt too bad. I’d do it. I’d put a down payment on a skycar too. And on top of that, he has money from endorsements from his younger days when people liked him.

It’s not like he’s a midlevel salary guy doing this.

Him gettin a jet is like a doctor buying a ferrari…. I wish I was taller and more athletic

  7. Vmart

I’m glad Marbury bought a private plane. He is thinking ahead to those long trips back from Italy.

  8. CoolClyde

Now Jetbury can fly his hero John McCain around,
go to Italy when he feels like it,
and leave his teammates hanging when he wants to go cry.

  9. Ted

Mike, you’re a big joke! ... and you’re corny man!
Haters … jealousy DOES not get you the thing that you are jealous of! Just in case you didn’t know!

    STOP HATIN!
    TED

STEPH! ... could I catch a ride bro!?

  10. Ted

PS – IDI**s! Steph never left the team of his own initiative. I guess you didn’t read that article!!

He was aksed to leave because they were going to buy him out. Then they changed their mind and asked him to come back!!!!

    Man, I hate IDI**s!

  11. George

Ted, do everyone a favor and go back to sucking on Marbury’s penis.
