First off, let me preface my comments by saying I didn’t see the game.

Folks, how ‘bout some patience with Duhon? Easy, Knick Fans. You’re up in arms already, and it’s the first preseason game!

Start dealing with the reality that this will be a growing year in D’Antoni’s system. This is around a 30-win team that’s going to look ugly a lot, especially early in the season.

One thing is for sure: the team will be playing with a sense of purpose, a game plan, and a goal, things that were all absent under the Isiah regime.

This is not a playoff team. C’mon folks, lighten up a bit.

We need to focus on D’Fense and not chucking shots up. Percentage wise we will lose. D’Antoni is an offensive mind. To implement that system we need physical forwards that know how to run the pick n roll. Zach remains to be a question mark. With Curry we know what we have. Our mistake is not having a defensive specialist in a non scoring role. Like Marcus Camby or Amare Stodamire. We needs to trade for one. Darko?
I don’t know but we need mean in the paint to win. Not chucking shots up when we are down.

Yeah, you guys that are insisting on Marbury starting really need to do a little research. As to D’Antoni, he’s going to play who he thinks gives him the best chance to win. If that’s Steph so be it but he probably won’t be it. I sort of feel like an idiot even rising to this debate. You guys are like McCain / Palin saying “drill baby drill”. Promoting Steph is like promoting oil as a way out of our energy crisis. We need to get over our dependence on Steph/ oil.

Meanwhile, I don’t need him off the team right now. Let him play hungry and see if it’s good for him. If everyone hates him in a few months you can cut him loose and he comes off the cap.

Um… isnt D’Antoni preaching team? Didn’t Steph leave the team for selfish reasons? Didnt the team vote to bench him? Didnt he only play 24 games last year pretty much by CHOICE (an injury he could have chosen to play through)? C’mon… he not only needs to go… he needs to go now. Look at all the doubt and hate he brings up amongst fans after 1 preseason game where he stunk too.

This is like being the second string quarterback on a mediocre team… he always looks better than the starter the moment things get dicey.

Trade him now… end the debate. Marbury is cancer… NOBODY wants to play with him. I was all for him coming into last year till he quit on ME and on YOU. Send him packin. Let the team truly start as fresh as we can.

Giving the keys to Marbury this early would be suicide by any coach when you consider Steph’s track record at leading NBA teams. I don’t understand why you’re all flipping out about D’Antoni not being fair. Chill out, we have a team finally, it’s all good. And Duhon isn’t that bad, at least he can play defense. Geeze.

What exactly did Marbury do to be the only player without a clean slate? How about being a cancer for the last 4 years? Being a total lunatic, selfish piece of crap for the last 4 years?
The bar is that much higher for Marbury; he’s got to earn that clean slate.

Wow. Duhon looked absolutely lost out their, but I’m not ready to give up on the kid. Jay – nobody questions that Starbury is the most talented player on the team, but he’s not the best player. No, to be that means you have the respect of everyone on the floor and right now Starbury doesn’t.

I like that D’antoni’s looking at the future when constructing our starting lineup. Steph’s probably not going to be here all year (trading deadline, at the longest) so why not let Duhon learn the offense first hand – and what better time to learn then the preseason. But I am with ya on starting Nate if Duhon doesn’t get better. He still needs to work on his passing game, but his speed is deadly in this offense.

Besides, if we’re going to play 9-10 players a game then it’s really not a big deal who starts because the diff. in time on the floor is going to be minimal.

p.s. – Wilson Chandler is going to be a star.

I doubt the system will work w/ marbury holding the ball(check our team assist)...its the first pre season so i hope they can fix the TO problem but i like the speed of the game…

Duhon sucks. He’s the 4th best guard on the team. He should be coming in for 7 min a game to give the other guys a rest.

Marbury is better than him in every aspect of the game. All this talk about being team-oriented and Dantoni sits Marbury out of spite? Anyone with eyes knows that Duhon cannot compare to Marbury. Dantoni needs to suck it up and start the best player on the team.

And if you don’t want to start Marbury, start Nate. It’s like his body was sculpted specifically for this offense. He’s an absolute freak of nature.

Can’t wait to chant “Duhon Sucks!” opening night. We need to send Dantoni a message that starting clearly inferior players will NOT be tolerated.

If Marbury adapts his game to fit D’Antoni’s system, then he may well start. If not, then Nate may be more likely to supplant Duhon, if this game becomes more than a very small sample of his ability to run this offense.
