Maybe it’s just the way the release is worded, but the immediate future does not sound bright for Danilo Gallinari.
The prescription for a cranky back is fairly vague.
“Danilo was examined by two specialists (Thursday). Both were in agreement that Danilo should receive another cortisone shot, which he received in the afternoon. He will now have an extended period of rest, and over the next few weeks, will receive additional opinions on his long-term management options.”
It doesn’t sound like surgery has been ruled out.
Basically, we shouldn’t be expecting Gallinari to get many votes for Rookie of the Year. Rule him out for a moment. Zach Randolph is putting up incredible numbers so far, and his trade value is rising. There will be offers made in the coming months.
Do you trade him knowing it might knock the Knicks out of the playoffs, but improve their future?
And just so everybody knows, I’m still covering the Giants, but haven’t missed a minute of the Knicks this season. My DVR is getting a workout. If you miss me like Mase, you can check out a live chat I’m doing at noon. The URL is www.LoHud.com/giantsjournallive.

Of course you trade Randolph if you can get value for him. By then, maybe Curry’s knee will be better and with Randolph gone you can start playing Curry to pump up his value. 2010 is what it’s all about. If we make the playoffs this year, fine, but it’s all about 2010. Randolph’s being a good soldier, there hasn’t been any problems off the court but, despite his stats, he’s not worth his contract. A contract like that has to go to a top 5 type player, someone who will make others around him better because given the salary cap, they ain’t going to be stars on their own. Randolph doesn’t fit the bill.
I agree with pretty much everything Not Hawthorne Wingo said. I have faith in Donnie Walsh and I think he knows 2010 is where he has his opportunities to really turn this team around. At the same time, if we manage to make the playoffs this year, that’s great too.
Oh, and if Walsh can get some great value for Zach Randolph in a trade offer, I hope he doesn’t hesitate to pull the trigger on that deal.
I do not think the team should even think about trading Z-Bo, or as my girlfriend dubbed him, “the bull”. He is an all star caliber player who brings intensity and as clyde would say an uncanny knack for rebounding, and unless we get somebody who is an all star or has all star potential, we should wait and see what happens this year. We can always a salary dump trade next season if the team isn’t going well, but right now I am curious to see how high D’Antoni can elevate the team. If we can swing him for a promising young talent who can run and block shots and rebound like Biedrins or Tyrus Thomas or Kaman, I would take it. But if you trade him just to free up some salary, I think it is foolish. The Bull will probably average 22 pts. and 11 boards a game this year and I don’t think we can justify trading him for spare parts and expiring contracts. New York needs a playoff run this year to reinspire the fans and to instill some hope. Trade Curry for junk since he doesn’t contribute anyway, maybe take a flier on a high risk/reward type player, a young guy perhaps. Keep Z-Bo! Go Knicks, championship run coming this season.
I do love a lot about the way that Randolph’s played so far this season, especially his work on the boards. But a few more games playing like this and I think his trade value should soar. The Knicks have to trade him. I was upset the Knicks didn’t trade him to Memphis because Walsh wanted fair trade compensation. But his patience may pay off because Randolph has looked great. At $48million and 3 years, he clearly has to be moved at some point before the 2010 off-season. I say, get the best possible trade now before his game if further dissected by opposing scouts and his fatal flaws (unwillingness to pass out of double teams, pathetic defender) are exposed.
It’s cool that he’s been making his 3-pointers too. But that worries me more than it satisfies me. We all know what making a few treys can do to talented PFs (see ‘Sheed, ‘Toine, etc.) They start to fall in love with the outside shot. And on a team that has gotten 3-point happy, SOMEONE on the Knicks has to operate out of the low-block don’t they? (call me conservative I guess).
The Gallinari news is pretty upsetting. If he’s as good a shooter as everyone says he is, he’d be a great addition to this team. The SF platoon between him and Chandler would have been ridiculous.
I was having back problems after being in a car accident for 6 months. I saw various chiropractors including a sports chiropractor. Nothing seemed to help. At one point where I finished my recovery process I ended up getting back spasms again and went back to the chiropractor for 1 session. It did not help really. I was seeing acupuncturists, and I even saw a couple in China and went to visit them for a while. Nothing helped. Then one day I saw this acupuncturist in my area, and he said it was no problem to fix. All it would take is 4 visits and there would be no more pains. He said I needed to see him or else I would develop a pinched nerve. So, I did and after the first visit I was incredibly like 99% better. I couldn’t believe it. All his other patients were all saying the same thing. His name is Dr. Shao, and his website is at http://www.mastershao.com. He is no joke. I think Danilo should go see this guy. Nothing else I went to helped but this guy was amazing. He has a list of credentials at his website. What he does I think is combine qi gong with his acupuncture methods and has studied all his procedures and perfected them over 10-15 year periods. He has treated even people in the whitehouse.
Not Hawthorne Wingo, Pat G, Pravin
I’m tired of talking about the summer of 2010. It’s not about the summer of 2010. It’s about good coaching and being deep in talent. Lebron and “side show Bob” have gotten to one final and were swept. Are Wade and Beasley going to the finals? How many rings does Kobe have since Shaq? Why did the Celtics win? James Posey, Eddie House, Rajon Rondo, Kendrick Perkins, Sam Cassell. The Spurs? Bruce Bowen, GREG POPOVICH.
Now that we’re playing like we have a clue let’s enjoy ourselves. We would have no wins without Randolph right now. He’s part of what I pray might be a pretty good core. Walsh will know if a deal is right and so will everyone. Hopefully we can add primary and secondary pieces that complement what we have and that make a name with us. I don’t want us to kill two seasons waiting for a hero with a big shoe deal.
You mentioned the Lakers, Celtics and Spurs.
First of all, yeah the Celtics won last year because of ridiculous team work especially on the defensive end. But you neglected that it all started the day they traded for KG.
And the Spurs? They’ve had Duncan as the common ingredient for over a decade and four championships.
Between Shaq, Kobe, KG, and Duncan, what do they all have in common? They are all easily 1st ballot Hall of Famers. You need these transcendant stars to go to the next nevel of championship contender. The only recent champion without at least one legit superstar on their roster was the 2003-04 Pistons.
That’s why 2010 is so important. The Knicks need to develop their young players in that time and the team needs to improve so that the Knicks can lure one of those transcendant stars. Who knows, maybe in that time we’ll realize that Chandler or Gallinari or Nate is a superstar.
LeBron James is one of those game-transforming players. He took a really bad supporting cast and carried them to the NBA Finals.
“First of all, yeah the Celtics won last year because of ridiculous team work especially on the defensive end. But you neglected that it all started the day they traded for KG.”
Yes, KG and a great team.
“The only recent champion without at least one legit superstar on their roster was the 2003-04 Pistons.”
Yes, this is the point. These teams came together around star power but also around team concept. The C’s developed the young core to swing the KG deal, they had Al Jefferson who the Wolves viewed as a replacement. The Heat had a great season with Odom, Butler, etc. and that enabled them to swing the Shaq deal. The Knicks need to carry the good play forward for a good bit more before a deal like that can come to pass. Meanwhile, Randolph was 9-21 FG, 11-12 FT and 19 Rebounds. Maybe, in spite of the salary, he’s not been the problem.
My point is that being good gives us leverage in deal making but it’s also fun to watch. So let’s just cut to the chase and put L’s on the Mavs and the C’s. I would rather root for my team and not wait around for someone else’s star. I guess I faith that, like Detroit, a great system and complimentary parts gives rise to individuals that then produce transcendent performances.
the Knick’s must trade randolph. He is slow up and down the court and can’t keep up with the high pace offense. Look for the knicks to get an athletic power forward.
is there an easier way to learn this stuff?
Very nice Los Angeles Lakers information. I hope to be in Los Angeles for a game this spring.
Hey everyone, Apologies if this isn’t exactly relevant but I’m always browsing this site so I can check replies easily.
Basically I’ve been considering buying one of these oil radiator heaters since the cold weather is drawing in and the house is freezing! I’ve noticed there are oil free versions available too and wondered what the difference is? Does anyone know which version is best and why?
Thanks xx
