Just landed in my Inbox, from the Knicks.
“Today, Knicks guard J.R. Smith had patella tendon surgery and an arthroscopy for a tear in the lateral meniscus, of his left knee, at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, performed by Dr. Answorth Allen. The injuries were chronic and gradually worsened. Recovery time is approximately 12-16 weeks.”
Not what I was expecting to hear next from the Knicks. By my math, that puts him out anywhere from much of the preseason to the first few weeks of the regular season, with no setbacks.
