Some frustrating news: Jeremy Tyler, signed after an encouraging summer league campaign as a potential younger frontcourt player, suffered a stress fracture in his foot. Surgery was performed today, and he’s expected to be out 8-10 weeks, according to the Knicks, which would return him sometime in November, if accurate.
My reasons for optimism with Tyler are here. But asking him to be a factor without training camp is a more difficult task, and it’s not like Mike Woodson trusts young players easily who have gone through training camp, or even thrived there (see Copeland, Chris). Disappointing, but better early on, I suppose.
